CPAs donate 2,661 Items of Food to Boca Helping Hands Goldstein Lewin & Co., a CPA and consulting firm donated 2,661 items of food to Boca Helping Hands after a recent fire at the local food bank. The local accounting firm had a creative idea for getting all of their employees excited about the food drive. They divided their staff into three teams: Tax/ATS, Audit and Administration/Connexia Consulting. Each team had two weeks to bring in canned goods and food items for donation. At the end of the two weeks, the team with the greatest number of donations per person would win a pizza party for their entire department courtesy of Goldstein Lewin & Co. Right from the start the donations began to come in from everyone. As the competition went on, e-mails were sent out with each departments total to date and a little friendly competition began to take hold. In the middle of the food drive they read the news about the fire at Boca Helping Hands. That was when the staff of this 78 person accounting firm really showed their heart. Staff members began going to wholesale clubs and grocery stores to buy bulk food items for the food bank. The tally of food items became so great, they had to arrange for three SUV’s to deliver the goods to Boca Helping Hands makeshift home. The Audit department won the internal competition in a close race and a total of 2,661 items of food were delivered to Boca Helping Hands’ temporary location at 127 NW 13th St. Suite 13.
